Set to the song “Stuck In The Middle With You” by Stealers Wheel, this animation explores compositions inspired by patterns from the 1970s. The rhythm of the song is emphasized by the repetition of motifs and spontaneous alterations of color. While the scale and compositions change throughout the animation, the colors and graphic style provide a unifying base, much like the background percussion present the song.

I started my research by looking at what originally drew me to the song: aesthetic. The song was created in 1972, leading me to reference iconic patterns associated with the decade. The simple motifs were the perfect way to deliver bold colors and instrumental movements, without causing too much visual chaos.
