PANDO

Pando, the world’s largest living organism, is an Aspen clone which spans 108 acres and is comprised of approximately 47,000 sprouts. These sprouts stem from the same root system making them genetically identical and one living being.

My woven displays this unique connection through an architectural lace structure which spans 10.8 feet referencing the acreage of the tree, and containing 4700 connection points between the brown thread, nodding to the 47,000 interwoven sprouts of Pando.
